Turnstyle began in 1996 as a DJ Collective aptly named "Turnstyle Soundsystem" (aka - analog deejays - JOANNA O. & JESSE SPLIT). Not content with just bangin out the decks as DJ's..the pair decided to open up a boutique catering to the music & fashion of dance music culture..and so.. In 2003 Turnstyle grew into a freestanding streetwear fashion and music boutique. Turnstyle is located in the Arts District in Downtown Richmond Virginia. The online retail shop was added 2007. the artwalk - first fridays music is great and always booming at turnstyle.
Pros: experienced staff that knows techno (or electronic music). choice selection of dance music cd's and good selection of choice vinyl for the dj's
Cons: sometimes parking can be crazy.
