Hopewell, Viriginia is a small town rich in history. Dating back to the 1600's Hopewell, formally known as City Point, was a point of origin for many people first coming to this country. Through its rich history, Hopewell has been the site of Revolutionary War battles as well as the place where Grant stayed during the Union's ten month siege on Petersburg. Abraham Lincoln visited this area during the Civil War and later during World War One a large DuPont Factory located here was producing much needed guncotton. Today you can explore all these famous historical sites and more. When you are done you will need to eat at one of the fine restaurants serving the freshest seafood that you could ever imagine. Located near several military bases and a NASA center, Hopewell is also a modern town full of clubs, fine dining and unique shops.
